You Are Not Just Saved—You Are Sent
Some moments in life change everything. Not because something happened to you, but because something was placed on you. A responsibility. An assignment. A moment where what you carry suddenly matters beyond you.
Those moments feel different because receiving something is one thing and that is being responsible for it is another entirely.
Responsibility has weight. What's in your hands now matters beyond you. And if we're honest, those moments don't just feel meaningful; they also feel exposing. They reveal not just what you have, but what you believe about yourself.
The questions start flooding in: "Can I actually do this?" "Do I know enough?" "What if I get it wrong?" Not because you don't care, but precisely because now it matters.
The Tension Between Receiving and Representing
Here's a truth many of us wrestle with: Most people are comfortable receiving from God but hesitant to represent Him. We're grateful for salvation. We celebrate grace. We hold onto what God has done in us. But we hesitate when it comes to what God wants to do through us. That tension is real. Receiving feels safe. Representing feels costly. Receiving says, "God changed my life." But representing says, "Now my life is meant to impact someone else."
Following Jesus was never meant to stop with you.
Going With Authority
In Matthew 28:18, before Jesus tells His disciples what to do, He reminds them who He is: "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."
Before the command to go comes the reminder of who is sending them.
You are not going in your strength. You are not going based on your past. You are going under His authority.
Authority changes everything. It means backing. It means power. It means representation. When someone is sent with authority, they don't speak for themselves.
The disciples weren't confident men at this point. They had failed. They had run. They had doubted. And yet Jesus still sends them. Why? Because authority doesn't come from them. It comes from Him.
Acts 1:8 reinforces this truth: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me."
Some of us have been waiting to feel ready. But readiness is not the requirement—obedience is. God is not waiting for your confidence. He's calling you to walk in His authority.
You don't go in your strength. You go in His authority.
Carrying the Message
When Jesus sends you, you don't go empty-handed. He places something in your hands.
Matthew 28:19 gives the great commandment: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
What God did in you was never meant to stop with you. The gospel was never meant to stay with you.
You are a messenger. Not an editor. Not a modifier. A messenger.
We live in a culture that says faith is private. But Jesus says faith is meant to be proclaimed.
Romans 10:14-15 asks the penetrating questions: "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"
Consider this: If you had the cure to something deadly, would you keep it quiet? Would you say, "I don't want to offend anyone"? No. You would speak up.
We carry the message of life.
Second Corinthians 5:20 declares, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."
Start simple. A conversation. A prayer. An invitation. You don't create the message. You carry the message.
Going With His Presence
Here's what makes this even more powerful: You don't just go with authority. You don't just carry the message. You are not by yourself.
Matthew 28:20 contains the promise: "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
He didn't just send you. He goes with you.
You are never alone. In the conversation. In the uncertainty. In the awkward moments. He is there.
An ambassador represents a nation in a foreign land. They don't speak for themselves—they speak for the one who sent them. And they carry authority, protection, and backing.
You are Heaven's ambassador.
Hebrews 13:5 assures us: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Exodus 33:14 echoes this: "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
Moses said, "If Your presence doesn't go, I'm not going." Why? Because presence is everything.
You can't carry the weight of calling if your soul isn't settled in His presence.
The Question That Matters
The question is not, "Do I know enough?" It's not, "Do I feel ready?"
The real question is this: "What am I going to do with what God has entrusted to me?"
Stop waiting to feel ready. Stop disqualifying yourself. Start walking in what God has already placed on your life.
This doesn't look perfect. It looks obedient.
Two Responses
There are two groups reading this today.
First, those who need to be saved. You can't be sent until you are saved. The gospel begins with receiving what Christ has done for you and that includes His death, His resurrection, His grace.
Second, those who need to be recommissioned. You've been saved, but you've been sitting. And today, God is calling you forward.
Jesus didn't just die for you. He didn't just rise for you. He didn't save you just to sit. He didn't restore you just to stay. He didn't raise you just to remain.
He sent you.
You Are Sent
Presence leads somewhere. Restoration leads somewhere. Everything God has done in you is leading to what He wants to do through you.
You are not just saved. You are sent.
This is not about perfection. It's not about having all the answers. It's about stepping into the authority Christ has given you, carrying the message He's entrusted to you, and walking in the presence that goes with you.
The mission is clear. The authority is established. The presence is promised.
What will you do with what has been placed in your hands?
Praying that you have a blessed week,
Jay
