Why We’re Hosting a Worship Night Before Launching Our Church

When you’re starting a new church, it’s easy to get caught up in logistics. There are a million questions to answer:
  • Where will we meet?
  • What will our services look like?
  • How will we reach our community?

But before we launch weekly services, we believe it’s important to pause and focus on why we’re doing this in the first place. That’s why we’re gathering for a special Worship Night before our official launch.

Here’s why it matters:

To Center Everything on Jesus

Church isn’t about branding, programs, or filling seats. It’s about Jesus. Before anything else, we want to invite God to take the lead. A Worship Night is our way of saying: “Lord, this is Your church. We want to glorify You above all else.”

To Prepare Our Hearts

Launching a new church is exciting and a little scary! There are hopes and nerves on everyone’s mind. Worship gives us space to lay all of that at God’s feet. It’s a time to let go of anxiety, confess our need for Him, and ask for His guidance.

To Build Unity

A Worship Night is not a strategy meeting or a planning session. It’s a time for everyone to come together on level ground, as worshipers. It reminds us that we’re in this together—not as spectators, but as a family seeking God’s presence.

To Intercede for Our Community

We’re not planting this church for ourselves. We’re doing it for those who don’t yet know Jesus, for those who are finding their way back to Him, and for anyone ready to take their next step in following Him. Worship is a powerful form of intercession—it’s where we come together to ask God to move in our city, soften hearts, and use us to share His grace with others.

To Invite God’s Blessing on Our Launch

We don’t want to start anything in our own strength. We want God’s favor and blessing over every detail—from our first service to every conversation that follows. Worship is how we invite His Spirit to go before us and prepare the way.

It is our Prayer for This Worship Night. that this won’t just be an event on the calendar, but a moment that shapes the culture of our church from day one. We want Throne of Grace Fellowship to be known as a place where God’s presence is welcomed, where grace is real, and where people can approach His throne with confidence to find mercy and help in their time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

If you’re curious about what we’re doing or thinking of joining us, we’d love to have you. Come just as you are. Let’s worship Jesus together and ask Him to do what only He can do.
