Jesus’ first recorded sermon was clear and powerful: “Repent and believe the gospel.” Before miracles, before crowds, before the cross, Jesus called people to turn their hearts toward God.
Repentance is not a word of shame. It is a word of hope.
To repent means more than feeling sorry. It means changing your mind in such a way that it changes your direction. It is a spiritual turning. A realignment of the heart. A decision to walk toward God instead of away from Him.
Many of us carry hidden compromise, lingering bitterness, quiet pride, or patterns we have learned to justify. This season is not about ritual or outward religion. It is about inward renewal. Conviction is not condemnation. Conviction is God loving you enough to whisper, “Come back.”
The road to Calvary runs through repentance, but it leads to resurrection life.
