The miracles recorded in Scripture are more than extraordinary displays of power. Each one reveals something important about who Jesus is, how deeply He cares for people, and what happens when His authority meets human impossibility.
Our first message, “Jesus Calms the Storm,” comes from Mark 4:35–41. After a long day of teaching, Jesus called His disciples to cross the Sea of Galilee. During the journey, a violent storm arose, the waves began filling their boat, and the frightened disciples wondered whether Jesus truly cared about what was happening to them.
When Jesus arose and commanded the wind and sea to be still, He revealed far more than His ability to change difficult circumstances. He revealed His divine authority as Lord over creation. The disciples began the journey knowing Jesus as their Teacher, but they ended it asking, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
When life becomes frightening or uncertain, we may be tempted to interpret Christ’s silence as indifference. This passage reminds us that His silence does not mean His absence, the storm is never sovereign, and our circumstances are never greater than the Savior who is with us.
